Real Madrid winger Vinícius Júnior is reportedly planning to purchase a football club in Portugal’s second division, according to ESPN.
The 24-year-old is said to be exploring ways to diversify his business portfolio as he considers life beyond football. Vinícius already holds several personal sponsorship deals and has a long-term contract with Nike running until 2028.
Represented by Roc Nation, the Brazilian forward maintains close connections with elite athletes from other sports, particularly in the NBA and NFL.
Portugal’s second division consists of 18 teams, including reserve sides for Benfica and Porto. One such club, Portimonense, is already under Brazilian leadership, with Rodiney Sampaio as its president.
If the deal goes through, Vinícius would join a growing list of active footballers investing in club ownership. His Real Madrid teammate, Kylian Mbappé, became the majority shareholder of Caen in France’s second division last year, while N’Golo Kanté owns Royal Excelsior Virton in Belgium’s third division.
