Amad Diallo has expressed his excitement about a long-term future at Manchester United after signing a new contract with the club.
The Ivorian winger has been one of the few bright spots in what has been a challenging season for United. Despite the team’s struggles, sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League and parting ways with manager Erik ten Hag in October, Amad’s form has been impressive. Following the appointment of Ruben Amorim, who has faced challenges in adjusting the team’s style of play, Amad has continued to shine, scoring key goals, including a match-winner against Manchester City and an equalizer in the heated derby against Liverpool.
Amad, who signed a five-and-a-half-year contract, expressed his joy at committing his future to the club, stating: “It means a lot for me because I love this club. Every time I pull on the jersey, I’m so proud. Every time I’m on the pitch, I want to fight for this club, and I’m so happy to be here for a long time.”
Reflecting on United’s progress under Amorim, Amad added: “We learn every day. It’s a new system for everyone. At the beginning, it was not easy, but I think now the team is starting to understand it a little bit more. The manager and staff are here every day, helping us understand the system. We are very happy to have them, and we want to follow them because we know success will come in the end.”
Amad’s next opportunity to impress could come in the FA Cup third-round clash against Arsenal. United, the defending FA Cup champions after defeating Manchester City in last season’s final, will look to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat to the Gunners in their recent league encounter.
