Al-Hilal has announced that Neymar Jr. will not be registered for the second half of the season due to ongoing fitness concerns.
Manager Jorge Jesus revealed the decision, admitting that the 32-year-old forward is no longer reliable because of persistent injury issues.
Since joining Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, Neymar has struggled with injuries. He tore his ACL while on international duty shortly after his move and, despite returning to action in October, has been sidelined again with a hamstring problem.
Neymar has managed just seven appearances across league and cup competitions, scoring one goal.
Jesus commented:
“Ney will not be registered, but he can participate in the Asian Champions League. He’s world-class. But the truth is, physically, Neymar can no longer perform at the level we are used to.”
With his contract set to expire this summer, Neymar has been linked to several clubs, including a possible reunion with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Inter Miami in MLS.
