Barcelona have emerged as the latest club linked with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as the Serie A giants prepare to make a critical decision about his future.
Juventus signed Vlahovic for £66.6m in 2022, and the Serbian has scored 53 goals in 126 appearances across all competitions, including seven in Serie A this season. However, with Vlahovic now in the final 18 months of his contract, Juventus face the prospect of losing him on a free transfer, as talks over a contract extension have stalled.
If Vlahovic has not renewed his deal by the end of the season, Juventus are expected to sell him, and according to SPORT, Barcelona are planning to enter the race for his signature.
Barcelona have long admired Vlahovic, and with doubts surrounding the future of 36-year-old Robert Lewandowski, the club is considering a potential summer move for the striker. If Vlahovic allows his contract to run down, he could become a bargain for interested clubs.
Chelsea have also been linked with Vlahovic, while Arsenal, who have been admirers for some time, are seen as Barcelona’s main rivals. Arsenal are reportedly looking into a potential January deal, which could materialize once Juventus complete the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain.
In addition to Vlahovic, Barcelona are also interested in Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres but acknowledge that the fierce competition for the Swedish forward’s signature could make a deal difficult.
