Former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero has stated that four teams are still in contention for the Premier League title this season.
Liverpool currently lead the table with a solid six-point advantage and a game in hand. After finishing third in Jurgen Klopp’s final season, they were expected to go through a period of transition under new manager Arne Slot. However, they have only lost twice this season and are also leading the Champions League.
Aguero acknowledged that catching Liverpool will be “tough,” but he believes that Arsenal, Chelsea, and his former club Manchester City cannot be ruled out of the title race.
Arsenal are currently joint-second with Nottingham Forest, while Chelsea are in fourth, above City.
“To compete for the title, you have to win as many matches as possible,” Aguero, who is an ambassador for Stake, said while previewing Manchester City’s upcoming match against Chelsea this Saturday.
“Chelsea is just another challenge, and beating them would be a huge boost. I wouldn’t focus on how results affect others – I’d look ahead and focus on what’s best for City.”
“I’m not big on predictions. Right now, Liverpool have built up a significant lead, and it’s tough to ignore how hard it will be to overcome them. But this is the Premier League, and the impossible has happened before. Arsenal and Chelsea are hopeful, and if they stay steady, they’ll remain in the race.”
“As for City – what can I say? They’ll fight until the end. I’ve seen it happen with my own eyes.”
