Al-Hilal head coach Jorge Jesus has firmly ruled out a move for Mohamed Salah during the January transfer window but hinted that the club could revisit the pursuit in the summer.
Salah, whose current contract with Liverpool expires at the end of this season, has been the subject of transfer speculation. Despite initial links to Al-Hilal in previous windows, he extended his contract with the Reds. However, with no progress made on a new deal, Salah has suggested that this could be his last season at Liverpool, prompting fresh discussions about his future.
While rumors swirled that Saudi clubs, including Al-Hilal, might seek to secure Salah’s services this winter, Jesus dismissed the idea.
Following Al-Hilal’s 9-0 victory over Al-Fateh, the Portuguese coach said:
“Salah or other big names won’t come this winter… but maybe this summer.”
Despite their success in the Saudi Pro League and AFC Champions League, Al-Hilal has faced challenges, especially with Neymar sidelined due to injury. Reports indicate that the club is looking to bring in another superstar, with Salah reportedly being a preferred target, but Jesus confirmed any move for the Egyptian forward will be postponed until the summer.
