Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has stated that he is not concerned about losing his job despite the team’s poor form.
Amorim made the comments after United suffered their 12th league defeat of the season, a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. The defeat leaves the Red Devils in 15th place, just two points above the relegation zone.
James Maddison’s first-half goal proved to be the difference in a tightly contested match in North London.
Since taking over from Erik ten Hag, Amorim has now lost eight of his 14 league games in charge.
“I am not worried. I understand how our fans and the media feel,” Amorim told the BBC. “I hate losing, it’s the worst feeling.
“The rest is not on my mind. I’m here to help my players. I understand my situation and my job, and I am confident in my work. I just want to win games.
“My focus is on our position in the table, not on myself.”
