Barcelona have confirmed that striker Robert Lewandowski has sustained an injury that is expected to rule him out of next weekend’s Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid.
The Polish forward limped off with just over ten minutes remaining in Saturday’s thrilling 4-3 comeback win over Celta Vigo — his 100th La Liga appearance ending without a goal and now clouded by injury concerns.
Following the match, Lewandowski underwent medical tests, and the results were not what Barcelona had hoped for.

“Tests carried out this Sunday have confirmed that first-team player Robert Lewandowski has an injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh,” the club announced. “His return to training will depend on how the injury evolves.”
While Barça did not specify a recovery timeline, SPORT reports the striker will miss the Copa del Rey final and could be sidelined for at least two weeks. If the injury proves more severe, his absence could stretch to four weeks.
The timing couldn’t be worse for Xavi’s side. After the final, they face Inter in the Champions League semi-finals, with the first leg scheduled for April 30 and the return on May 6. A crucial La Liga Clasico against Real Madrid looms on May 11 — a fixture that could have significant title implications.
In Lewandowski’s absence, Ferran Torres is expected to lead the line, though he showed visible frustration after being substituted against Celta.
