Brazilian superstar Neymar is reportedly in early talks with three MLS clubs about a potential move to the United States.
According to ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle, Neymar is in preliminary discussions with the teams, with the Chicago Fire emerging as the only club with confirmed interest. The Fire, who finished near the bottom of the MLS standings, recently appointed former U.S. Men’s National Team head coach Gregg Berhalter as their new manager.
However, Inter Miami, frequently linked with high-profile signings, is not one of the teams in the running for the 32-year-old winger. Inter Miami’s new head coach, Javier Mascherano, stated that signing Neymar would be “impossible” due to MLS salary cap restrictions.
Despite this, sources in Brazil claim Neymar still hopes to reunite with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez at Miami, forming a new version of their legendary ‘MSN’ trio.
Neymar’s time at Al Hilal has been troubled since his $97.6 million move from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023. He suffered a torn ACL shortly after joining, missing several months of action. Although he returned in October, a subsequent hamstring injury has limited his playing time, and he has made just seven appearances, scoring once in the AFC Champions League.
With his contract at Al Hilal running through June 2025, Neymar is now eligible to begin negotiating with other teams for a potential transfer.
