Chelsea missed a key opportunity to strengthen their top-four hopes with a disappointing 0-0 draw against Brentford on Sunday.
Brentford enjoyed the better of a lackluster first half against a Chelsea side that made five changes from their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur midweek. However, the introduction of Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, and Pedro Neto in the second half helped inject some life into the visitors.
While all three had shots blocked, it was Brentford who came closest to scoring. Sepp van den Berg will be left frustrated after heading a free header over the crossbar with just ten minutes remaining.
The draw keeps Chelsea in fourth place, but they are now vulnerable to Manchester City and Newcastle United, who could leapfrog them if they win their games in hand.
