The full line-up for the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals has been confirmed following the conclusion of the Round of 16 ties on Wednesday night.
Aston Villa will face Paris Saint-Germain in the opening quarter-final clash. Unai Emery’s side took full advantage of their numerical superiority to secure a dominant 3-0 victory over Club Brugge, with Marco Asensio netting twice and Ian Maatsen also getting on the scoresheet.
PSG progressed to the quarter-finals after a dramatic 4-1 win in a penalty shootout against Liverpool, with the aggregate score level at 1-1.
In the second quarter-final, Inter Milan will take on Bayern Munich. Vincent Kompany’s side triumphed over Bayer Leverkusen with a 5-0 aggregate score after a 3-0 win at the Allianz Arena, with Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies finding the net for Bayern. Inter also secured their place in the last eight with a 2-1 win over Feyenoord at the San Siro.
Barcelona will face Borussia Dortmund for a spot in the semi-finals. Barcelona progressed by overcoming Benfica, while Dortmund eliminated Lille.
Arsenal will meet Real Madrid, who needed penalties to knock out defending champions Atletico Madrid.
The quarter-final ties will take place on April 8 and 9.
