Chelsea have announced the new shirt number for defender Trevoh Chalobah following his return from a loan spell at Crystal Palace.
Chalobah, who was initially deemed surplus to requirements last summer, was loaned out for the 2024/25 season after being left out of manager Enzo Maresca’s plans.
However, the Blues recalled the 24-year-old on Wednesday to address defensive injuries, with Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile currently sidelined.
Previously, Chalobah wore the No. 14 jersey after breaking into the first team under former manager Thomas Tuchel. However, that number was claimed by Joao Felix last summer upon his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Now back in Chelsea’s squad, Chalobah will don the No. 23 shirt as he reintegrates into Maresca’s plans. The defender has made 80 appearances for the Blues to date.
