Former Chelsea star Joe Cole believes it “makes sense” for Casemiro to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window.
Reports suggest the Brazilian midfielder is not part of new United manager Ruben Amorim’s plans for the season.
Casemiro made a strong start at Old Trafford after his £70 million move from Real Madrid in 2022, scoring seven goals in 51 appearances during an impressive debut campaign. However, he has struggled to maintain that form and has started only four matches in all competitions since Amorim took charge last November.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to Al-Nassr, where he could reunite with former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking on Al Arabiya News’ The Dressing Room podcast, Cole commented: “It makes sense. They’re bringing in big, big players, and Casemiro is one of them. It doesn’t seem like he’s part of Amorim’s plans.”
Casemiro’s current contract with Manchester United is set to expire in 18 months.
