Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has stated that his team needs to win at least seven home games to secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Aston Villa on Saturday evening, Maresca emphasized that winning the seven remaining home games would be key to returning to the Champions League.
Maresca has consistently downplayed discussions about Chelsea competing for the title this season.
Currently, Chelsea sits in 6th place in the Premier League, trailing Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, and Bournemouth. They are one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City after 25 matches.
“We have 13 games to go and seven of them are at home,” Maresca said in a Friday news conference. “I think winning the seven at home can be enough to finish in the top four,” he added.
