Borussia Dortmund remain determined to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, with the Bundesliga club reportedly considering a permanent transfer, according to German outlet BILD.
Rashford, currently sidelined amid a turbulent transfer window, has not featured for United since a Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen on December 12. Manager Ruben Amorim appears to have lost confidence in the 27-year-old England international, leaving him out of action as speculation about his future intensifies.
While Rashford has drawn interest from Saudi Arabia, he has turned down their advances, with Spain—particularly Barcelona—emerging as his preferred destination. However, Dortmund may provide the platform Rashford needs to reignite his career, offering a more stable environment than other suitors.
Dortmund first expressed interest in early January and, despite competition from AC Milan and Barcelona, remain committed to pursuing a deal for the forward. The German club is reportedly in talks with United about a permanent move and is discussing an approximate fee of £40 million.
The sale of Donyell Malen to Aston Villa for £19 million earlier this week has given Dortmund additional financial flexibility and a vacancy in their attack, which could accommodate Rashford. Unlike other clubs linked to short-term loan deals, Dortmund may have the resources to secure a full transfer.
Rashford’s representatives are also believed to favor a permanent move, with Dortmund’s interest presenting a promising opportunity for the winger to regain form and confidence in his favored left-wing position. As Dortmund struggle in a disappointing season, currently sitting 10th in the Bundesliga, Rashford could be a vital piece of their resurgence.
