Manchester United mounted a dramatic second-half comeback against Everton on Saturday, recovering from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.
The Red Devils struggled to get into their rhythm early on, with Everton’s high energy proving difficult to handle. It took just 19 minutes for the hosts to capitalize on United’s failure to clear a simple corner, as Beto scored for the fourth consecutive Premier League match.
Things worsened for United before halftime when Abdoulaye Doucoure extended Everton’s lead. The midfielder, returning from suspension, reacted quickly to Jack Harrison’s parried shot and headed the ball past Andre Onana.
United reduced the deficit with 20 minutes to go, thanks to a brilliant free kick from Bruno Fernandes, whose strike shifted momentum in United’s favor.
Just eight minutes later, Manuel Ugarte completed the turnaround with a stunning volley to equalize. But the drama wasn’t over.
In stoppage time, Everton were awarded a penalty after Ashley Young went down under pressure from Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire. However, after a review at the monitor, referee Andy Madley overturned his decision, saving United from defeat and ensuring they left with a hard-earned point.
