Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has revealed the player Ruben Amorim is interested in signing this summer.
Scholes claims that the Red Devils’ manager is keen on acquiring Martin Zubimendi, who is also being pursued by Arsenal and Liverpool.
Manchester United triumphed 4-1 over Real Sociedad in their UEFA Europa League last-16 second leg last Thursday, followed by a 3-0 win against Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Amorim praised Zubimendi ahead of their Europa League victory, and in light of the Manchester United manager’s remarks, Scholes shared his thoughts on TNT Sports, stating, “From that interview, the manager quite likes Zubimendi! If we sell three or four players, we might be able to buy him.”
The 26-year-old Zubimendi is expected to be a hot commodity in the upcoming summer transfer window. He turned down a move to Liverpool last summer and has reportedly attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester City in recent months.
