At least four major Premier League clubs will miss out on the FA Cup fifth-round draw on Monday night.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been knocked out of the competition.
Arsenal were eliminated by Manchester United in the third round at the Emirates. Bruno Fernandes gave United the lead, but Gabriel Magalhães equalized. Martin Ødegaard then missed a chance to win from the penalty spot, and United secured their place in the next round through a penalty shoot-out.
In one of the season’s biggest upsets, Plymouth defeated Liverpool 1-0, with Hardie scoring from the spot.
Chelsea were beaten 2-1 by Brighton at the Amex, with Brighton coming from behind to secure the win.
Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday marked their second domestic cup exit in a week, following their heavy 4-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.
