Former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has confirmed that he plans to return to coaching in the summer after taking a break from the game.
The 45-year-old Spaniard, who left Barcelona in 2024, has been linked with various managerial roles. However, he has now clarified his intentions.
“I plan to return to the sidelines this summer. I am currently enjoying a sabbatical, but I’m eager to get back into coaching,” Xavi told France Football.
“I’ve enjoyed watching Ligue 1 this season, especially PSG, Monaco, Lille, Brest, and Marseille. It’s been fascinating to observe the tactical approaches of coaches like Luis Enrique and Roberto De Zerbi. I’ve also been following teams managed by Pep Guardiola, Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany, Xabi Alonso, and Mikel Arteta.”
Xavi has also kept an eye on clubs like Tottenham, Newcastle, and Nottingham Forest, under Nuno Espirito Santo.
As a player, Xavi won numerous trophies, including the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and the Super Cup.
