Nigerian star Victor Osimhen has picked up an injury ahead of next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda’s Wasps away and Zimbabwe’s Warriors at home under their new head coach, Eric Chelle.
Osimhen, Nigeria’s key striker, was substituted in the 89th minute during Galatasaray’s goalless draw against Fenerbahce on Monday evening.
It has since been confirmed by Galatasaray’s team doctor, Yener İnce, that the substitution was due to injury.
“We will see, it will be clear tomorrow,” the 55-year-old said on habersarikirmizi.com.
The 26-year-old currently shares second place as Nigeria’s all-time top scorer with 23 goals in 39 appearances. Only Rashidi Yekini, with 37 goals in 62 caps, has scored more for the Super Eagles.
