Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s manager, has claimed that no team will manage to win four consecutive Premier League titles or reach 100 points during his “lifetime.”
Ahead of Sunday’s match against current league leaders Liverpool, Guardiola reflected on his team’s past achievements.
Although City has dominated in recent years, securing four consecutive titles, they have struggled this season. Their best shot at silverware now rests with the FA Cup, following their Champions League exit at the hands of Real Madrid earlier this week.
Speaking with Neil Warnock on Sky Sports, Guardiola remarked:
“No one is going to win 100 points or four-in-a-row in the Premier League. It’s not going to happen in my lifetime, I’m sorry!”
City’s 100-point record from the 2017-18 season still stands unmatched in the league. However, it seems likely that Liverpool will end City’s reign as champions this season.
