Cristina Serra, wife of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, has spoken out for the first time since news broke of their separation, confirming that she is “feeling great.”
Spotted shopping alone in Barcelona just a week after the news became public, Cristina greeted a Spanish reporter with a smile. When asked how she was doing, she responded, “Perfecta, gracias” (“Perfect, thanks”) and added, “Everything’s fine” when further inquired about her state of mind.
However, she chose to remain silent when asked directly about the reasons behind the split.
Speculation suggests that Guardiola’s decision to extend his contract with Manchester City for two more years and remain in Manchester could be a contributing factor to their separation.
Cristina and Guardiola met in 1994 and married in 2014. Despite the breakup, it is understood that they maintain a cordial and affectionate relationship, and the split is not believed to have been caused by a third party.
