Beautiful, stylish, and displaying a sense of style, Bukky Wright isn’t a Nollywood actress that you can cross off the list of entertainment industry achievers.
She’s a great role interpreter and is still one of the best Yoruba film producers. A mother of two, Bukky Wright moved to the United States of America a few years ago, but she’s back now and shares what pulled her away from Nollywood.
Actress Bukky Wright has shed light on her hiatus from acting after relocating to the United States, explaining how her career took a new direction during her time abroad.
In an interview with The Punch, Bukky disclosed that she ventured into the tech industry, a path many doubted she could pursue successfully.
She said, “I will be practising it [tech] simultaneously with entertainment. The fact that I had to deviate totally from entertainment to tech was something many people thought I would not be able to do. I would tell all my mentees that if I can do it, they can do it too.”
Reflecting on her time away, the actress revealed what she missed most about Nigeria.
“What I would love to eat again would be proper Naija amala. What I would like to do again would be to act with Nollywood actors,” she said.
Addressing her much-anticipated return to Nollywood, Bukky assured fans of exciting projects in the pipeline.
She teased, “I have a lot for fans, including my project—‘The Return of Omotara Johnson,’ which is coming, and a whole lot of other things. I am back to stay.”
When asked about her ageless looks, she attributed it to prioritising rest, saying, “I don’t joke with my beauty sleep.”
Bukky is among the star-studded cast of the upcoming movie Something About The Briggs, slated for release on January 31.
The film also features Daniel Etim Effiong, Ariyike Dimples, Norbert Young, Gloria Young, Rita Dominic, Iyabo Ojo, Stan Nze, Kenneth Okolie, Kalu Ikeagwu, Linda Ejiofor, Kanaga Jnr, Elma Mbadiwe, Simi Drey, Tubosun Aiyedehin, Zack Orji and Liz Benson-Ameye.
