Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko has dispelled myths regarding his past marriages by claiming that he never had four wives concurrently. The actor clarified that although he was a polygamist, his circumstances differed from what was generally believed.
Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko shared that he initially married two women, but unfortunately, both passed away. After their deaths, he married another two women. He emphasized that at no point did he have four wives at the same time.
Kosoko, a prominent figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry, further elaborated on how his experience with polygamy has been unique. He expressed gratitude for the understanding nature of his wives and children, which has made managing a polygamous home easier for him.
He acknowledged that not everyone is as fortunate, highlighting the challenges that often come with polygamous marriages.
The actor also spoke about financial responsibilities in a polygamous home, noting that he handles things based on his capacity at any given time. He explained that his family understands his financial situation, which helps in maintaining peace.
He stressed the importance of fairness and love in managing multiple households, stating that his approach is based on mutual understanding rather than societal expectations.
His words; “I didn’t have four wives at the same time o! Don’t get it wrong because people are not getting it. I had two, I lost them. I married another two and lost one. I am not supporting polygamy. Not everybody can be this lucky. And why would I even say I am lucky when I have lost wives? But I know it was not polygamy that caused that because all my wives cooperated with each other.”
