Renowned footballer Odion Jude Ighalo has shared that he has never missed paying his tithe since he began in 2005.
In an interview with Rasheedat Ajibade on Ash Christ TV, Ighalo revealed that his first salary as a footballer came in 2005. He credited his pastor’s teachings on tithing for inspiring him to start paying his tithe that year, and he has remained consistent ever since.
“My first salary as a footballer was in 2005, and it was N15,000. Because my pastor taught me about tithing, I’ve been paying it ever since, and I’ve never missed a payment,” Jude said.
The footballer also shared the internal struggle he faced when he received his first salary, explaining that he was tempted by voices telling him not to pay tithe from the N15,000. Despite these doubts, he remained faithful.
“If you can be faithful with little, you will be faithful with any amount that comes your way,” he concluded.
