Baba Kukute, a seasoned Yoruba film actor, has talked about one of the most embarrassing days of his childhood and how the discipline he received that day altered his course in life.
In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Nigbati TV during an interview, he disclosed that he was beaten mercilessly and tied up when he stole meats from his mother’s pot.
In his statement, he said, “My mother cooked some meats, and she kept it inside the room when she was going out. After she went out, I went to carry the pot, but unfortunately it fell on my face, and all the meats in the pot, including the soup, fell on my face. I couldn’t see anything until my mother came back, and she pretended as if nothing happened, and she allowed me to sleep.
She woke me up in the middle of the night and reported me to my brothers. I was beaten mercilessly and tied up in the night when I stole meats from the pot. Since that time, I have never tried to steal anything from anybody, and this should be a lesson to others who steal from people.”
