Recently Ijoba Lande sparked controversy when he took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the payment he received from Funke Akindele’s production, which took place at Amen Estate. His statements quickly went viral, stirring reactions from fans and industry colleagues.
In less than 24 hours, the actor made another video where he retracted his statements and issued a heartfelt apology to the “Everybody Loves Jenifa” star.
Prostrating flat in front of the camera, Ijoba Lande pleaded with the public for help, stating that he did not want to go to prison. He begged people to help him apologize to Funke Akindele, insisting that his original video had been edited and misrepresented.
He explained that he never intended to tarnish her reputation and emphasized that she had not wronged him.
He further accused those who edited the video of being wicked, clarifying that he initially mentioned ₦190,000, but people focused only on his mistake about the N90k payment.
Expressing his fears, he urged the public not to ruin his life, adding that if Funke Akindele decided to sue him, it would have severe consequences for him.
He repeatedly begged for forgiveness, hoping to resolve the issue before it escalated further.
Ijoba Lande revealed that he featured in Funke Akindele’s 2018 TV series, My Siblings and I, where he played the role of a gateman.
