Lakers star LeBron James took a jab at a journalist for wearing Manchester United gear during an interview.
The 40-year-old Lakers forward, who is a part-owner of Liverpool Football Club—Manchester United’s fierce rivals—mocked Lakers journalist Mike Trudell for sporting a Manchester United jacket at the press conference. LeBron, a well-known Liverpool supporter, has frequently been seen wearing Liverpool kits and sharing his allegiance on social media.
As soon as he saw the jacket, LeBron joked, “That’s a horrible jacket, by the way,” before playfully suggesting he might rip off the Red Devils’ crest from it.
LeBron was later back on the court for the Lakers in their dramatic 119-117 loss to the Chicago Bulls. The Lakers were leading by five with 11 seconds left, but the Bulls managed to score 9 points in the final moments while the Lakers only added 2. LeBron contributed 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 12 assists in the game.
