Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is set to miss the club’s next six matches due to a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old was forced off during the first half of Chelsea’s 3-0 Premier League loss to Brighton last Friday after suffering the injury.
As reported by The Telegraph, the club remains optimistic that Madueke won’t be sidelined for too long, but he is expected to be out until after the international break at the end of March.
This means Madueke will miss Chelsea’s upcoming Premier League fixture against Aston Villa this Saturday, as well as games against Southampton, Leicester City, and Arsenal.
He will also be absent for both legs of Chelsea’s Conference League last-16 clash, set for March 6 and 13. Chelsea will face one of Gent, FC Copenhagen, Real Betis, or FC Heidenheim in the Round of 16.
Madueke’s injury further complicates Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca’s attacking options, with the Italian already missing Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu.
