Temitope Adenike, an aspiring Yoruba actress, has talked about some of the things that happened to her when she was sent to Libya by her mother’s friend in an attempt to find a better life. She has also talked about the treatment she experienced from her mother’s friend once she arrived in Libya.
In a video that was posted on the official YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Ent during an interview, she explained that her mom’s close friend took her to Libya and sold her to work as a slave to some Ghanaians.
In her statement, she said, “When I had a discussion with my mother’s friend about Libya, she only told me that I was going to work over there for 3 months, but surprisingly, I already spent more than that 3 months on my way to Libya. When I got to her place in Libya, she insisted that I must abort my pregnancy, and she started giving me drugs to abort it. She told me that she needed some money and that she was going to sell me to some people. My mom’s close friend took me to Libya and sold me to work as a slave to Ghanaians. The Ghanaians lived in a three-storey building, and I always cleaned inside the house and the compound every day to the extent that I almost died.”
