Leicester City set an unwanted Premier League record following a 4-0 defeat to Brentford at the King Power Stadium on Friday night.
According to OptaJoe, this marked Leicester’s sixth consecutive home loss without scoring, the longest such streak in a single season in English top-flight history.
Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi started the match and played 77 minutes before being substituted for Oliver Skipp.
Brentford took the lead in the 17th minute when Yoane Wissa struck the ball into the ground, sending it over goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. They doubled their advantage in the 26th minute through a brilliant finish from Bryan Mbeumo, and Christian Nørgaard added a free header at the near post to make it 3-0 in the 32nd minute.
Substitute Fábio Carvalho sealed the victory with a fourth goal in the 89th minute after Hermansen initially blocked Mbeumo’s close-range shot.
The final whistle was met with boos from Leicester City fans, who had just witnessed their team lose for the tenth time in eleven matches.
