Manchester City will meet Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final next month after securing a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
Rico Lewis gave City the perfect start, receiving a pass from Mateo Kovacic on the edge of the Forest box and firing past Matz Sels to open the scoring inside two minutes.
Pep Guardiola’s side dominated the early stages, controlling possession and limiting Forest’s chances on the counter. Despite being behind early, Forest managed to hold City at bay for the remainder of the first half, with no clear-cut chances for the Cityzens.

Substitute Anthony Elanga had a golden opportunity to equalize shortly after coming on, but his first-time shot from Callum Hudson-Odoi’s cross went wide. City quickly punished the Swedish forward’s miss, doubling their lead through a Josko Gvardiol header.
Forest faced an uphill battle, but they showed resilience, threatening to reduce the deficit on several occasions. Morgan Gibbs-White hit the woodwork twice, and Taiwo Awoniyi also saw an effort crash off the post.
The fine margins worked in City’s favor, and Forest’s misfortune in front of goal allowed the reigning champions to comfortably see out the final minutes and secure their place in the FA Cup final.
