Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the crucial goal for Nottingham Forest as they secured a 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.
The first half was largely uneventful, with the two top-four contenders struggling to create clear chances. Nico Gonzalez came closest to breaking the deadlock with a powerful shot that struck the outside of the Forest post.
However, Hudson-Odoi made the difference in the 83rd minute, calmly finishing past Ederson. The Brazilian goalkeeper had earlier denied the winger with a fantastic save, but he should have done better to stop the shot at his near post.
The win is significant for Forest’s hopes of Champions League qualification, as they move five points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea. Meanwhile, City remains in fourth, but could be overtaken by Chelsea this weekend.
