The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has signed a partnership agreement with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) to boost the league’s visibility and engage fans nationwide.
NPFL chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye hailed the partnership as a strategic move to increase the popularity of Nigeria’s top-tier league, both locally and internationally.
Elegbeleye pointed out that Radio Nigeria’s vast reach and established reputation made the collaboration a natural fit, and he described it as part of the broadcaster’s corporate social responsibility.
“I recall the days when Radio Nigeria commentators gave the league the excitement and visibility it deserved. The voice of Ernest Okonkwo will never be forgotten,” Elegbeleye said after signing the deal.
“We in the NPFL want Nigerians to experience the best radio commentaries again. This MoU will help us bring the magic of the league to homes, cars, and football fans across the country.”
