Well-known Yoruba Nollywood actress and producer Yetunde Adeyemi shared how she managed to build her first home At the age of 20.
The actress claims that the senator’s son, whom she was seeing at the time, gave her the money for the house. In an interview on Kunle Afod’s official YouTube channel, Adeyemi revealed this information while discussing her early setbacks in the film business and her path to fame.

She disclosed that her first relationship in Abuja was with the senator’s son, who noticed her, liked her, and eventually started dating her.
She compared her story to popular Nollywood movie plots where a wealthy man’s son falls in love with a house help or a gateman’s daughter. Adeyemi stated that her real-life experience mirrored these fictional stories, as the relationship with the senator’s son played a crucial role in changing her life.
According to her, the relationship provided financial support, and through the help of her boyfriend at the time, she was able to build her first house at just 20 years old. However, she noted that the relationship eventually ended after he traveled abroad for his studies.
In her words; “When I moved to Abuja, I was just 19 years old. I grew up in Abuja, and that’s where I gained all my experience. My first relationship in Abuja was with a senator’s son. I was a house help at the senator’s house, and his son saw me, liked me, and that became my first relationship in Abuja. So, I am a living example of those Nollywood movies where a rich man’s child marries a poor house help or gateman’s daughter. At 19, that was my first relationship. In Abuja, I own a salon and built my first house at the age of 20, and it was through the senator’s son. However, I left because he traveled abroad for his studies.”
