Christopher Nkunku is reportedly open to considering offers for a move away from Chelsea this summer.
After joining the club for £52 million in 2023, much was expected of the French forward. However, a serious injury delayed his debut, and he has since struggled to meet expectations. With just six goals in 38 Premier League appearances, Nkunku has failed to provide significant competition for Chelsea’s main striker, Nicolas Jackson.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United both expressed interest in Nkunku during January, as it became apparent that he did not feature prominently in Enzo Maresca’s plans. His situation has not improved in recent months, and he was notably left out of the matchday squad for Chelsea’s comeback win over Fulham, after which Maresca explained the omission as a “technical decision.”

While The Times reports that no firm decisions have been made by either Chelsea or Nkunku, the forward is now open to exploring his options after starting just 11 league matches in the past two seasons.
A move away from Chelsea seems likely, but there is currently no mention of any clubs actively pursuing the player. Bayern Munich and Manchester United both hesitated at Chelsea’s £70 million asking price in January, and Nkunku refused to leave on loan.
Chelsea are expected to target a new striker this summer, with Maresca previously stating that he does not see Nkunku as a central forward. The club is also set to compete with Manchester United for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
