The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up one spot in the latest FIFA men’s rankings, released on Thursday. This marks the first men’s ranking of 2025, with Nigeria climbing from 44th to 43rd position.
However, Nigeria’s national team has dropped to sixth place in Africa, with Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, and Côte d’Ivoire occupying the top five positions on the continent.
The Super Eagles played twice in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers last month, securing a 2-0 win over Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali. They were then held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Meanwhile, Argentina remains at the top of the global rankings, with Spain, France, England, and Brazil rounding out the top five.
