Neymar will wear the iconic No. 10 shirt after rejoining Santos, with the Brazilian club confirming his arrival on Friday.
The club shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption “ThePrinceIsBack.” In the video, Neymar spoke fondly of his return, saying:
“King Pelé, your wish is my command, the throne and the crown will always be yours because you are eternal. But the No. 10, it will be an honor to wear the sacred jersey that represents so much for Santos and the world. I promise to do everything I can to keep honoring your legacy, King.”
Neymar signs with Santos as a free agent after his contract with Al Hilal was terminated. His time in the Saudi Pro League was marred by injury, as he scored just once in six appearances over 18 months. The former Barcelona star tore his left ACL shortly after joining Al Hilal, and though he returned in October, he suffered a hamstring injury soon after.
Neymar began his professional career with Santos in 2009 before making a high-profile move to Barcelona in 2013.
