Bayern Munich and Chelsea have engaged in initial discussions regarding a potential swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku and Mathys Tel.
This development was disclosed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet via his X account on Monday night.
Romano reported that Bayern Munich are interested in Nkunku, while Chelsea have expressed their desire to bring Tel to Stamford Bridge during the ongoing January transfer window.
“More on Mathys Tel and Chelsea story,” Romano tweeted.
“Bayern and Chelsea held initial talks about a possible swap deal, with players being discussed. Bayern asked about Christopher Nkunku’s situation at Chelsea, as BILD reported. Nothing advanced or close yet, but initial talks took place.”
Currently, both Nkunku and Tel are not regular starters under their respective managers, Enzo Maresca and Vincent Kompany. A switch could provide a fresh opportunity for both players to revive their careers in the latter half of the season.
