Victor Osimhen voiced his frustration following Galatasaray’s 3-3 Europa League draw against Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday night.
The Nigerian striker, who netted Galatasaray’s second goal with a penalty in the 53rd minute, was disappointed as his team squandered a 3-1 lead with just 22 minutes left. Dynamo Kyiv’s Andrii Yarmolenko struck twice to complete the comeback and secure a share of the points.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the match, Osimhen said: “We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more. We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes. They fought hard and scored important goals.”
The 26-year-old stressed the need for better teamwork, particularly in decision-making and passing.
“We need to understand each other better in key moments. When I’m going strong, I look for who I can pass to or who can pass to me. We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and improve.”
Reflecting on the team’s recent form, Osimhen added: “This is the second consecutive draw. We need to work hard, learn, and focus on the matches ahead.”
Despite the result, Osimhen extended his impressive goal-scoring streak to five goals in his last five games, taking his season tally to 15 across all competitions.
