Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has acknowledged that plans for a new stadium are currently facing challenges.
Boehly explained that while the club is actively working on stadium plans, the situation is complicated, particularly due to Stamford Bridge’s location in the heart of London.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Boehly said, “Inside of London it’s really complex. It’s not like we are building something in a rural environment. We have a lot of stakeholders to consider, and certainly, the Chelsea fan base is one of them.”
He added, “Long-term, I think we’re going to build something new, and I think we’ll figure it out.”
Chelsea has previously explored the possibility of relocating to Earls Court, as redeveloping Stamford Bridge in its current location would be difficult due to space constraints.
