West Ham United have reportedly shown interest in signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan, according to talkSPORT.
Rashford’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain after being recently dropped by manager Ruben Amorim. The 27-year-old has publicly expressed his willingness to take on a “new challenge” away from Manchester United, and the club is said to be open to offers.
While West Ham would welcome Rashford on loan, they acknowledge the possibility that he may opt for a move to a top European club. Several high-profile teams, including Napoli, Juventus, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund, have been linked with the England international.
Manchester United are reportedly resigned to the fact that a permanent transfer this month is unlikely, making a loan deal their most probable option.
The news comes shortly after West Ham appointed Graham Potter as their new manager. Potter, who signed a two-and-a-half-year contract, replaced Julen Lopetegui following his dismissal after a difficult eight-month tenure that left West Ham in 14th place in the Premier League.
At his introductory press conference, Potter expressed excitement about joining West Ham, praising the club’s “big tradition, big history, big expectation.” He likened his appointment to “a bit like Christmas for the adults” and shared his eagerness to begin working with the players and engaging with the supporters.
